Supporting Belt and Road Energy Development: OBAIR Accelerates Expansion in Central Asia
In July 2026, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov visited China Huadian Corporation’s Aktau Combined-Cycle Power Plant Project and spoke highly of its construction progress. The visit highlighted the deepening cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in energy infrastructure under the Belt and Road Initiative.
As a key HVAC equipment supplier for the project, OBAIR is providing constant-temperature and constant-humidity air-cooled packaged air-conditioning units to ensure reliable environmental control for critical areas of the 160 MW power plant.
A New Energy Landmark in Kazakhstan
The Aktau Combined-Cycle Power Plant is China Huadian Corporation’s first gas-fired power project invested in and constructed in Kazakhstan.
With a total investment of approximately USD 210 million and an installed capacity of 160 MW, the project will feature a new combined-cycle gas turbine power generation unit and is scheduled to begin operation in 2027.

Once completed, the plant is expected to generate approximately 880 million kWh of cleaner electricity annually, strengthening the security and reliability of the regional power supply.
Reliable Climate Control for Critical Facilities
Control rooms, electrical rooms and other critical areas of a power plant require highly stable temperature and humidity conditions. Even minor environmental fluctuations may affect the performance, reliability and service life of sensitive equipment.

OBAIR’s constant-temperature and constant-humidity units can maintain temperature and relative humidity within the required range, with control precision of up to ±0.5°C and ±5% RH.
Equipped with precise sensors and intelligent control technology, the units continuously monitor indoor conditions and automatically adjust their operation, providing stable and dependable climate control for the project’s critical facilities.
The Aktau project further demonstrates OBAIR’s ability to deliver specialised HVAC solutions for demanding energy and industrial applications.

Accelerating Expansion in Central Asia
Central Asia is a key region along the Belt and Road, with growing demand for energy, infrastructure and industrial development. OBAIR has identified the region as an important market in its international growth strategy.
From September 2 to 4, 2026, OBAIR will participate in Aqua-Therm Almaty at the Atakent International Exhibition Centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
One month later, from October 6 to 8, OBAIR will exhibit at Aquatherm® Tashkent 2026 at Uzexpocentre NEC in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
By participating in two major HVAC exhibitions in Central Asia, OBAIR aims to strengthen its regional brand presence, expand its local partner network and introduce its HVAC solutions to more international customers.

From Product Export to Global Brand Development
Since establishing its international trade division in 2024, OBAIR has accelerated its global expansion. The company has established overseas offices in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam while developing stable partnerships in Kazakhstan and other markets.
An overseas manufacturing base in Thailand has also been incorporated into OBAIR’s strategic plan. The facility will support the company’s transition from product export to local manufacturing and global service.
