OBAIR's 1.5 Billion RMB Smart Manufacturing Base Design Project Bidding Concludes

Recently, OBAIR Air Conditioning successfully concluded the bidding for its East China Headquarters and Smart Manufacturing Base in Haiyan, Zhejiang Province. Following four days of rigorous professional evaluation, China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd. emerged as the winning design firm among 27 top-tier planning and design institutions nationwide.

This project marks a strategically important milestone in OBAIR’s global layout, with a total investment of approximately 1.5 billion RMB. Located in Baibu Economic Development Zone, Haiyan County — a core hub in the Yangtze River Delta region — the development spans about 200 mu of land with a total construction area of 200,000 square meters. More than just a capacity expansion, the new base will integrate intelligent workshops, cutting-edge R&D facilities, and high-standard green and low-carbon industrial solutions.

Equipped with specialized laboratories including an enthalpy difference test lab and water-cooling test stations, the campus will serve as a key innovation engine for OBAIR. Designed to become a zero-carbon lighthouse factory, it will act as the core platform for the company’s AI-driven smart manufacturing transformation, reinforcing its global vision of “Building OBAIR for the World”.

The winning scheme stood out for its strong alignment with OBAIR’s corporate culture, forward-looking design philosophy, technological innovation, and high adaptability to intelligent manufacturing scenarios. Using 3D animation and digital simulation, the team delivered an immersive, full-scene visualization of the future plant, allowing the jury to experience firsthand the efficiency of smart production and the sustainability of green architecture.

At the close of the evaluation, Mr. Zhan Jun, Chairman of OBAIR Air Conditioning, extended sincere gratitude to all participating institutions. He emphasized that while the bidding phase had concluded, long-term partnership and mutual trust would continue.

“Today’s selection focuses on identifying the optimal design solution for this project, yet our friendship and collaboration extend far beyond it,” Chairman Zhan noted. “OBAIR has clear plans for new manufacturing facilities in Southwest China and Thailand in the near future, which will create extensive opportunities for further cooperation.”

With the design finalized, construction of OBAIR’s East China Headquarters will enter a fast-track implementation phase. Situated on the northern shore of Hangzhou Bay, this zero-carbon smart base will optimize the company’s supply chain in East China and establish a new benchmark for Chinese smart manufacturing on the global stage.
